This thing is incredible! The erotic scenes are white hot and incredibly raw! Not for the weak of heart, that’s for sure. The first person p.o.v. is genius! Open your mind and fall deep into the role of Derek Helton, the novel’s hero, antihero, protagonist………..whatever you want to call him. This is one sick, amazing, twisted journey.
Kudos to Ms. Jefferson for pushing the boundaries that Fifty Shades of Grey tapped against, completely into the stratosphere. Excellent writing, excellent pace, excellent use of flashback, all excellent all the way through.
Can’t wait for the sequel.

Was anyone working with Apparoo? We’ve been looking into it and think that they cut the entire 1 year campaign that involved mommy/lifestyle bloggers. It only lasted a few weeks instead of a year… We agreed to a tremendously low rate because it was a one year arrangement.
Their last email said that they’re ending the relationship with us because our posts didn’t provide enough clicks.
Curious to know if everyone else in the campaign got that same excuse.
Starting on a new chapter of kitty parenthood with our precious 6-year old, Ashley, as we start twice a day insulin injections for treating diabetes :-(. Poor kitty! Fortunately, we have already found a kitty nurse who will come twice a day when we are out of town. Keeping our fingers crossed that treatments go well!!!
Crazy times tonight in the San Juan mountains. Bummed to see so many strong runners defeated by Hardrock this year, but after three days on the course with friends, I have newfound respect for how difficult this course really is.
On a bright note, though, Jeason waited out the worst of the storm at Grouse and is on his way again, looking strong and in good spirits!
A FB friend’s status (trans from Hebrew): “Who loses from another round with Gaza? Citizens of the south, soldiers, farming and industry nationwide, those on reserve duty, the budget, peace. Who is benefiting from another round with Gaza? Politicians whose contribution to the country is the power of hate. Do the maths yourselves.”

To all fans of Beverly in Movieland: for some mysterious technological reason, my blog disappeared today. I wouldn’t have known, but some very nice people clued me in. (Thanks to Craig Edwards, among others.) I’ve since done some password magic, and now everything seems all right again. Whew!
Many thanks to my spouse, who refused to let me succumb to the depths of despair. If you’re curious, check out www.beverlyinmovieland.com Tomorrow (Tueday), I’ll be writing about The Fault in Our Stars, along with that classic weepie, Love Story. Do drop by!
Getting ready to leave a casino in Phoenix and get to the door. I see my first dust storm. Visibility is about zero. It was an amazing sight if you weren’t out in it. There were winds more than 50 miles per hour, power knocked out to thousands, airport closed. Only one thing to do. Go back to the tables in the casino until the storm passes.
