Thrilled to be able to say that I have a new short story forthcoming from Fireside Fiction!
“To Fall, and Pause, and Fall” is about identity, art, and the (mis)behavior of crowds. This story is a particular favorite of mine, and I couldn’t be happier for Fireside to be publishing it. Don’t know just yet when it will be out – watch this space for more info!

Dusk

Dusk, and everybody’s out on their stoop enjoying the cool breeze. A crowd of people, doorman included, are cooing over a small dog. The lady at the deli counter comes out to ooh and ahh over my leg tattoo.
A lot of people hate this city, but I’m not one of ’em. There’s an energy you could power a fucking mission to Mars with in the air when you pack that many lives together in a small space. Everything thrums like a violin string.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy
Kerrie Hughes and Jim Butcher’s FIERCE, a new contemporary fantasy anthology featuring the fierce breed of warriors who use their unique abilities to fight back the darkness and often skirt its edges (including stories by Jim Butcher, Seanan McGuire, Mercedes Lackey, Rob Thurman, Kat Richardson and others), to Anne Sowards of Roc, in a very nice deal, by Lucienne Diver of The Knight Agency and Jennifer Jackson of the Donald Maass Literary Agency.

VIETNAM VETERAN SITES

VIETNAM VETERAN SITES
These people posting under the Vietnam Veterans of America sites are not all (we don’t know how many) Vietnam veterans and are generally despised by the vast majority of Vietnam veterans for being racist and anti-Semitic. They are secretive and refuse to disclose information about themselves; there is no freedom of expression on these sites, no open dialogue is allowed. We know they are endeared with Palestinians regardless of the horrors they commit to advance war against Israel — which is strange since the group says it’s against war.
That’s the reality.

Carrie has such fun with the restaurateurs and mixologist and really showcased SHOR and what they have awaiting both locals and visitors this summer… and all throughout the year … highlighting the freshest ingredients and making this a favorite Newport spot to dine and enjoy with friends

No joke

No joke. 🙂
This is actually quite exciting for my beloved #HomeTown. Of course I did swing by to take a peek. I learned that in addition to everything else I do, I would LOVE to be a “location scout” for the movie industry. Behind-the-scenes simply fascinates me.
The other night when I was visiting my mother I drove her past the set and asked her, “Mom, really, does this look Japan[ie] to you?”
She shook her head while cracking up…
