Professor Assari is a great deal more timid in his approach to uncovering the reasons for poverty in the US than some who define the condition of poverty as a direct result of capitalism and the selective, hierarchical way capitalistic economy operate. However, I think he’s headed in the right direction in suggesting opportunity in our society is far from even. I believe with other socialists that the capitalistic system goes further to exploit people at the lower end of income opportunity to provide an unearned proportion of the wealth and resources to an elite class at the top. In fact, in the US, wealth already tightly established begets wealth and actively bars unfortunates at the low end with people in abject poverty at the very bottom. Assari points to the comparatively short time the majority of people remain in abject poverty. My experience shows a greater number of people at the lower end cycling in and out of poverty and few ever achieving a financial base above the lower class.
Out conservative political regime intend on cutting off aid to people in need will certainly force an even greater proportion of our US population into abject poverty. But perhaps the idea is that more people at the lower end should replace immigrants and work in a kind of servitude to the wealthy (in one way or another) filling the employment no one wants; the jobs currently filled by immigrants. Further insights to social structural unevenness are provided in “The Nature of Mass Poverty”
by John Kenneth Galbraith.

All

All. You. Need.
I used to spend so much time, money, and effort trying to “get in shape”. I seriously didn’t even knew what that meant or how I was supposed to go about it. I thought it meant basically starving myself and spending hours at the gym. And let me tell you, that just did NOT work for me.
Then I was introduced to challenge groups. I learned how to eat clean and in the right portions. I learned that I only needed 30 minutes to workout (in my house!!). I learned that I needed just one super yummy shake to make all my dreams come true.
And I learned that I needed support.
I would NEVER have had the success that I did without the help of my fellow challengers. It honestly changed my life. And it’s changing the lives of those that are participating with me now!
I am so excited because my new challenge group starts prep week in just 2 days and I have 5 spots left! If you are feeling EXHAUSTED at the thought of trying to “get in shape”, let me help you. We aren’t just getting in shape. We are changing our lives.

That moment when you find out your seester’s having a boy

That moment when you find out your seester’s having a boy. So incredibly happy right now! So blessed to witness the life changing moments of my loved ones. Sometimes I question whether I made the right choice leaving the city of opportunity to be closer to my family and friends. After today, I have no doubt in my mind that I made the right choice, and I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I’m building a life of freedom that requires wi-fi, passion, and a dream. I’m able to witness moments like this when most have to sacrifice precious time for money. I’m living with passion and helping others in the process. It’s only a matter of time that I will have the freedom to be where I want to be, when I want to be, and with whom I want to be. But one thing will never change…FAMILY FIRST. I wouldn’t have missed this for the world! Ashley Atwell Reamer #dreamchasin #itsaboy #familyfirst #makingmemories
